Tennis Podcast: Re-living great Wimbledon moments – GETTY IMAGES
In the absence of live tennis from Wimbledon, our friends at The Tennis Podcast will publish daily editions of its Tennis Re-Lived series of podcasts.
Starting on Monday and running chronologically, The Tennis Podcast will tell the story of Martina Navratilova’s record nine Wimbledon titles, the 1980 final between Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe, 17-year-old Boris Becker rampaging through the draw, the bittersweet Jana Novotna story and a British man winning Wimbledon for the first time in 77 years.
Tennis Podcast schedule
Many of the greatest finals ever will be remembered, including Steffi Graf vs Gabriela Sabatini in 1991, Venus Williams vs Lindsay Davenport in 2005 and Rafael Nadal vs Roger Federer in 2008.
The Tennis Podcast team of Catherine Whitaker, David Law and Matt Roberts will go deep with research, talk to players, coaches and commentators who were there at the time, and tell personal anecdotes about moments that illuminated The Championships.
They will watch the relevant matches back with listeners each morning, discuss what made the storylines around them so memorable, and then publish a podcast each evening for the next two weeks.
