Anjum Moudgil, Ankur Mittal nominated by NRAI for Khel Ratna, three others recommended for Arjuna Award

Elavenil Valarivan, Abhishek Verma and Om Prakash Mitherval have been nominated for the Arjuna Award.

Olympic-bound rifle shooter Anjum Moudgil and double trap world champion Ankur Mittal have been nominated by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, the highest sporting honour in the country.

Mittal won the Arjuna Award in 2018, having been crowned the double trap world champion that year. Anjum, meanwhile, is a world championship silver medallist and won the Arjuna in 2019.

Meanwhile, women's 10m air rifle world No.1 Elavenil Valarivan and men's 10m air pistol world No.1 Abhishek Verma have been nominated for the Arjuna Award.

Om Prakash Mitherval, the 50m pistol world champion, has also been nominated for the Arjuna by the NRAI. The association did not make any recommendations for the Dronacharya awards categiry this year.
